In April 1997 the Métis Regional Council Zone IV began a corporation called Métis Regional Council Zone IV Economic Development Corporation. It was later renamed Métis Opportunity Inc.
M.O.I. Vision
Working together to promote and increase the economic development opportunities for Métis people in Alberta.
M.O.I. Mission
"On behalf of all Métis people within Zone IV, Zone IV is responsible for the advancement of the rich Métis culture and ensure the social, economic and political well-being of all Métis people."
M.O.I. Goals
1. Economic Development: To promote, enhance and support economic development initiatives at the local community, regional, and provincial levels in order to ensure long-term self-sufficiency for Métis people.
2. Programs and Services: To develop a broad range of programs and services - delivered at the local and regional levels - that respond to the individual needs of the Métis people involving the governmental departments of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Justice, Learning, Health, Environmental Protection, Family and Social Services, Economic Development and Tourism, Community Development, Agriculture, Food, and Rural Development and lastly, Advanced Education and Career Development.
